Open role, Core & Delivery
Project Manager
Digital & Tech
Planning, control and execution of digital and technology projects, taking them to port. Scope, timing, budget and the team, held together by one person.
Planning, control and delivery of digital and technology projects
Wise Pirates looks for restless people, focused on evolving to learn, on producing meaningful impacts, and on working in a highly collaborative way, in a Digital and Tech context. To meet a growing number of clients and digital projects, we want to find the best.
This role involves the planning, control, execution and follow-up of digital and technology projects, with the aim of bringing them safely to port: a pirate who steers projects along the right route, taking account of requirements, scope, timing, budget and the team involved.
It is a coordination seat with real accountability. You will not be the person writing the code or building the campaign, but you will be the person who knows whether it will land, who says so early when it will not, and who keeps a multidisciplinary team pointed at the same outcome.
What you will actually do
- PlanningPlan projects properly at the start: requirements, scope, dependencies, milestones and the resourcing that makes the plan real rather than optimistic.
- Execution & ControlRun projects day to day, tracking progress against plan and intervening before something drifts rather than after.
- Scope & ChangeManage scope deliberately, making the cost of a change visible to the client and to the team instead of absorbing it silently.
- Budget & TimingKeep budget and timeline under control across several concurrent projects, and escalate early when one of them is at risk.
- Client RelationshipBe the client’s main point of contact throughout the journey, from onboarding to delivery. That means translating business needs into clear project requirements, managing expectations honestly even when the news is not what they want to hear, running status meetings that actually move things forward, and building the kind of trust that turns a one-off project into a long-term partnership.
- Internal AlignmentKeep internal teams informed at the right level of detail, so nobody is surprised by something you already knew.
- Team CoordinationCoordinate multidisciplinary teams across strategy, media, creative, data and tech, without becoming a bottleneck.
- Risk ManagementIdentify risks while they are still cheap, and carry a plan for the ones that matter.
- Process & FrameworkBring structure and framework to how projects run, and improve it as the agency grows.
- Quality & HandoverHold the standard of what is delivered, and make sure a finished project is actually handed over rather than abandoned.
Technical & platform skills
- Experience
- More than 12 months of experience in IT, digital or implementation project management.
- Education
- Higher education degree.
- Digital fluency
- Fluent in digital and native in social media, with enough understanding of the work to challenge an estimate.
- Organisation
- Strong capacity for organisation, planning, structure and framework.
- Scope & integration
- Defining what is in and out, and keeping every workstream pulling in the same direction.
- Schedule & cost
- Building realistic timelines and budgets, and controlling drift before it becomes a crisis.
- Quality
- Making sure “done” actually means done, to the standard the client and the team agreed on.
- Risk
- Spotting what could go wrong early, and having a plan before it does.
- Resources & team
- Coordinating a multidisciplinary crew across development, design and marketing, without micromanaging any of them.
- Communication & stakeholders
- Keeping the right people informed, aligned, and never surprised.
- Communication
- High capacity for communication and for building relationships with a range of interlocutors.
- AI literacy
- Literacy in Tech and AI subjects, and practical understanding of how LLMs and agents work: context, tools, memory, and why the same prompt can return different answers. Sophisticated use of AI platforms, both with efficiency and security.
- Languages
- Good knowledge of English, and fluency in Portuguese.
Behavioral skills
- Energy & Positive Attitude
- Energy, a positive attitude, openness to challenge and an orientation towards demanding standards.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit
- Entrepreneurial spirit and real capacity for work.
- Collaborative Work
- Excellent capacity for collaborative work across disciplines.
- Straightforwardness
- Straightforward, but kind. You tell a client or a colleague early when a deadline is not going to hold.
- Composure
- Able to hold several projects and competing pressures without transmitting the pressure to the team as noise.
- Kindness
- At Wise Pirates we promote and admire kindness, independently of rhythm, intensity and efficiency.
- Analytical Mindset
- Capable of putting data first and obsessed with insight building, always with client satisfaction and business results in mind.
- AI Readiness
- Interest and fluency in using AI as a partner to deliver efficient value, respecting security and privacy regulations.
Not required. Noticed.
- Knowledge and experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, GMP/GCP, Shopify or Commerce Cloud.
- Certification or experience in Google Ads, Facebook and Instagram advertising, or LinkedIn.
- PMP, Agile or Scrum certification.
- PRINCE2, PMI-ACP or an equivalent formal qualification.
- Running a portfolio of concurrent projects, with capacity and resourcing decisions taken across them rather than one project at a time.
- Estimation practice you can defend: how you build a number, how you express its uncertainty, and how you revise it without losing credibility.
- Formal change control, and a risk or RAID register that stays alive rather than being filled in once at kick-off.
- Commercial literacy on statements of work: what is in scope, what triggers a change order, and where margin quietly disappears.
- Hybrid delivery, running agile teams inside a fixed-scope or fixed-budget client commitment.
- Delivery in regulated or enterprise environments, where approvals and documentation are part of the timeline rather than an afterthought.
- Experience in a consultancy company or consultancy context.
- Experience with ClickUp or an equivalent project management tool.
