Campaign Manager

Google Ads, Meta & Social Ads, or both. Campaigns from plan to measurement. Lead generation and e-commerce, on accounts you start from scratch and on accounts that are already large.

Location: Portugal
Work model: Hybrid
Schedule: Full time
About the role

Google Ads, Meta & Social Ads, or both

As a Campaign Manager, you will manage the procedure, implementation, tracking and measurement of marketing campaigns, and deliver regular reports of campaign results, including web analysis and evaluation of KPIs. You will maintain regular measurement of the ROI of campaigns and other KPIs, work with a budget while meeting deadlines across multiple projects, and intervene before things go off track.

We are open on the channel. Strong on Google Ads, strong on Meta & Social Ads, or strong on both: any of the three works, and what matters is that one of them is real rather than a line on a CV. You will plan and build campaigns for lead generation as well as for e-commerce, which means the judgement you need is about where a budget belongs and what it is being asked to do.

The mechanics have changed and the page should say so. Automated bidding and automated campaign types, Performance Max and Advantage+ among them, have absorbed most of the manual decisions, so the work has moved upstream: campaign architecture, the quality of the conversion signal you send, and knowing when automation is genuinely the right answer rather than the default. You will be part of an omnichannel digital team, all pushing towards the customer's best results.

Key responsibilities

What you will actually do

  • Campaign PlanningPlan online advertising strategies and develop and build campaigns, across the campaign types each platform makes available.
  • ImplementationGet ready to start implementation from scratch on all these platforms, or to take over fully grown and vast accounts.
  • Campaign ArchitectureDecide how an account should be structured: what deserves its own campaign, where automation helps and where it quietly cannibalises other activity.
  • Automation OrchestrationRun the automated layer deliberately: which automated campaign types are live, what signal and assets feed them, what is excluded or constrained, and how they sit alongside each other so they complement rather than compete for the same demand.
  • Tracking & MeasurementManage the tracking and measurement of campaigns, and keep the conversion setup sound, because automated bidding works from the signal it is given.
  • Data CollectionCollect relevant data across platforms in order to permanently measure and optimize every campaign. We make data-based decisions every day.
  • ReportingCompile regular reports of campaign performance and results, including web analysis and evaluation of KPIs, written to explain what drove the result rather than to list what happened.
  • Budget & DeadlinesWork with a budget while meeting deadlines for multiple projects, and intervene before things go off track.
  • Creative InputBrief and judge the assets that automated campaign types consume, since creative is now one of the few inputs still fully under our control.
  • Client PartnershipLearn and use all the resources available to the client's needs, working with the customer as a team and providing valuable inputs across the digital scope of your knowledge.
  • Omnichannel CollaborationBe part of an omnichannel digital team, all pushing forward toward the customer's best results.
  • Continuous LearningGet ready and eager to learn what is coming in a digital fast-paced environment.
What we're looking for

Technical & platform skills

Experience
2 to 4 years managing paid campaigns, in an agency or client-facing context. The seat is open across that range, and we adjust scope to the person rather than the other way around.
Platform depth
Strong, hands-on command of Google Ads or Meta & Social Ads, for lead generation and for e-commerce, including the automated campaign types rather than manual structures alone. We are not asking for both; we are asking for one you genuinely know.
Analytics stack
Deep knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Search Console, and of Merchant Center if e-commerce on Google is where you come from.
Measurement
Working understanding of how conversion tracking is set up in GA4 and Google Ads, and of why it matters to an algorithm that bids on it.
Strategic knowledge
Deep strategic knowledge translated and applied to different advertising platforms.
Multi-tasking
Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment, across several accounts at once.
AI literacy
Literacy in Tech and AI subjects, and practical understanding of how LLMs and agents work: context, tools, memory, and why the same prompt can return different answers. Sophisticated use of AI platforms, both with efficiency and security.
Languages
Fluency in English and Portuguese.
What we're looking for

Behavioral skills

Data-Driven Mindset
You make decisions from data every day, and you go and get the data rather than waiting for it.
Judgement
You can tell when a platform recommendation serves the client and when it serves the platform.
Ownership
Accountability for the accounts you run, for the budget in them and for what you promise a client.
Curiosity
Appetite for what is coming next in a channel that rewrites itself regularly, and for testing it rather than reading about it.
Collaborative Spirit
Proactive in working across multi-disciplinary teams, sharing knowledge rather than holding it.
Kindness
At Wise Pirates we promote and admire kindness, independently of rhythm, intensity and efficiency.
Analytical Mindset
Capable of putting data first and obsessed with insight building, always with client satisfaction and business results in mind.
AI Readiness
Interest and fluency in using AI as a partner to deliver efficient value, respecting security and privacy regulations.
Results-Oriented Zeal
An unwavering commitment to the client's bottom line, pushing boundaries to chase the best overall performance and business goals.
Nice to have

Not required. Noticed.

  • Additional years of experience beyond the range above, for a broader remit and more ownership over strategy.
  • Google Ads certification, though it is not mandatory.
  • Both sides: Google Ads and Meta & Social Ads at depth, and a view on how budgets should split between them.
  • Other channels: LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, Reddit or Amazon Ads.
  • Retail media, and how a platform that owns the transaction changes the plan.
  • Media buying beyond auction: direct deals, publisher buys, out of home, audio or TV, and the planning that comes with them.
  • Deeper e-commerce and feed work, alongside our Shopping specialist.
  • DV360 and programmatic, alongside our GMP team.
  • Experience with lead quality rather than lead volume: CRM feedback loops, offline conversions and what happens after the form.
  • Looker Studio or an equivalent, for reporting that a client can read without us in the room.
