Internship Program
2026/27
Real client work from the first month, a senior Pirate beside you, and a serious shot at staying. One programme, several tracks, for the 2026/27 cycle.
One programme, several tracks
This is not a programme where you watch. From the first month you work on live accounts for real clients, with your name attached to what you produce and a senior Pirate responsible for making sure you are not alone in it.
You apply to the programme, not to a single job. In the application you tell us which track interests you most, and we talk it through before we place you: paid media, SEO and GEO, data and analytics with Inner Data, marketing automation and CRM, content and creative, development, or project management. Most people arrive less certain than they expect to sound, which is fine. Knowing what you want to try is enough.
We hire from this programme. That is the point of running it, and it is the honest reason the bar is where it is. Not everyone stays, and we tell you where you stand long before the end rather than at it.
What you will actually do
- Client WorkWork on live accounts alongside the team that runs them, on tasks that would otherwise sit with someone else. Nothing invented to keep you busy.
- A MentorOne named senior Pirate accountable for your progress, with regular one-to-one time that is scheduled rather than improvised.
- A TrackDepth in one discipline, chosen with you, so you leave with a real skill rather than a tour of seven departments.
- Exposure Beyond ItSessions with the other teams, because almost nothing we deliver involves only one discipline, and knowing who does what is half of working in an agency.
- TrainingStructured onboarding, platform certifications where they help, and our internal AI and Martech sessions alongside everyone else.
- Real FeedbackTold clearly and early what is working and what is not, including whether a position at the end is likely.
- Client ContactPresent your own work when it is ready to be presented, with support the first few times and less of it after that.
- A Way to StayA path to a permanent seat for the people who earn one. This is our main entry route, not a side channel.
Technical & platform skills
- Who it is for
- Final-year students, recent graduates, and people changing direction into digital with the willingness to start at the beginning of it.
- Education
- A degree or ongoing degree in Marketing, Management, Communication, Economics, Data, Engineering, Design or a related field. The field matters less than what you have done with it.
- Languages
- Fluent Portuguese and solid English. Most of our work touches both, and some of it only English.
- Digital literacy
- Comfort with spreadsheets, numbers and the logic of digital platforms, and no fear of a tool you have not seen before.
- AI readiness
- Practical, curious use of AI tools, with a sense of where they help and where they invent. You do not need to be an expert. You do need to have tried.
- Writing
- The ability to write a clear paragraph. It is underrated, and it shows up in every track.
- Availability
- Available for the full cycle, hybrid, from Lisbon or Matosinhos.
Behavioral skills
- Curiosity
- You ask why a thing is done that way, and you keep asking after the first answer.
- Initiative
- You move before being told to, and you say when you are stuck instead of hiding it for a week.
- Kindness
- At Wise Pirates we promote and admire kindness, independently of rhythm, intensity and efficiency.
- Receptive to Feedback
- Able to take an edit without taking it personally. You will get a lot of them, and that is the fastest part of the year.
- Analytical Mindset
- Capable of putting data first and obsessed with insight building, always with client satisfaction and business results in mind.
- AI Readiness
- Interest and fluency in using AI as a partner to deliver efficient value, respecting security and privacy regulations.
- Results-Oriented Zeal
- An unwavering commitment to the client’s bottom line, pushing boundaries to chase the best overall performance and business goals.
Not required. Noticed.
- A previous internship, a student job, or anything that taught you what a deadline feels like.
- Personal projects: a site, a store, a channel, a newsletter, a bot. Scale is irrelevant, having finished it is not.
- Google, Meta or HubSpot certifications, which are free and say something about how you spend a weekend.
- Basic SQL, Python, or the curiosity to learn one of them.
- A portfolio, for the content, creative and development tracks.
- Involvement in student associations, junior enterprises or volunteering.
- A third language.
