Migrate to a brand new GA4 Account: E-commerce Client
THE STORY
Having an online store with more than 50k products and a medium daily revenue of 200.000€ is a challenge of its own. When this project started, the first few weeks were only dedicated to building a strong discovery and creating a migration plan that went beyond the standard requirements.
In the discovery, we ended up with 17/18 events, with only one of them having some kind of parameters in it, the purchase one to be exact, with 7 parameters in its Datalayer.
After some talks and trials, we came up with 26 events, 12 of them having new parameters, which gave us a green total of a medium 12 parameters per event, having the last one, the purchase, 23, user an item related!
As a result, immediately all the new functionalities in GA4 were fulfilled and we build the bases for full data gathering from our client.

THE STORY
When you are in the financial area, all the major insights you can get from whoever visits your site or app are gold. With more than 10k users per day, it’s essential to know what they are doing in order to give them the best and more suitable products.
With every action tracked on the site and app, which was an increase of 345% in events measurement, and with each event having 10+ custom parameters in it, you can only imagine the data richness we were able to provide our client.
And more. With our setup with the direct integration with Big Query, they are now able to make much deeper analyses and ever use our custom-made scripts to run those type of queries that took ages to run.

GA4 is the latest version of Google Analytics and it was initially created to tackle cross-device tracking limitations and gather in a unique platform data from both the web and app universe but also to support emerging industry needs and customer demands such as privacy regulations and updates, advanced insights and data insights and data activation.
WHY YOU NEED GA4
From July 1st 2023 Universal Analytics will start to disappear and GA4 will become the new Google Analytics product available. This means that every Google Analytics user will need to migrate and get familiar to GA4. In order to not loose data, the migration needs to be done as soon as possible before the Universal Analytics sunset.
